Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has issued recruitment advertisement for the post of Constable (Driver, cook, safaiwala, washerman, barber & water carrier) in 2016. Around 2068 vacancy is to be filled up for the SSB constable posts for both male and female. Eligibility and other details has been given below which has been taken from www.ssb.nic.in. The recruitment notification has been published through advertisement no 293/RC/SSB/RECTT./CTs/2016.

Details of the post and vacancy:

Group C Constable non-gazetted posts in following trades –

Constable – Driver (for male candidates) –

731, Constable (cook) – 409,

Constable (washerman) –

200, Constable (Barbar) – 97,

Constable (safaiwala) – 206,

Constable (Water carrier) – 425 posts.

Total vacant seats for the SSB Constable posts 2016 is 2068. Vacancy will be reserved for SC ST OBC PH Ex-serviceman category candidates also. Category and male / female wise vacancy break up list has been given on their official advertisement. Please download it from the link given at the last.

Educational Qualification Required:

Eligibility for SSB Constable posts –

Matriculation or 10^th pass from recognized institution. They should also possess valid heavy vehicle driving license.

For constables (Cook, washer man, safaiwala, barber & water carrier) – Candidates must have done matriculation and should also have two years diploma from ITI in relevant trade or 1 year experience in similar trade and 1 year vocational certificate or 2 years working experience in similar trade.

Important Dates of Recruitment:

Last date of application form receipt – 30 days after the publishing of the recruitment advertisement in employment newspaper.

Salary Structure:

The recruited constables will be paid in the pay scale of Rs 5,200 – 20,200 with grade pay of Rs 2,000. Other allowances will also be included in their monthly salary as per the SSB (paramilitary) rules.

Selection Process / Exam Pattern:

Age Limit:

Lower Limit = 21 years for drivers and for others 18 years.

Upper Limit = 27 years for driver and 23years for other constable posts.

Relaxation in upper age limit will be given to the reserved category candidates.

Exam Fee:

For General and OBC candidates – Rs 50.

SC ST Candidates – Nil.
