Karnam Malleswari is the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal. She is known as the ‘iron lady’ ,won the bronze medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She retired after participating in the 2004 Athens Olympics.
At the 2008 Beijing Olympics,he won gold in the Men’s 10 meter air rifle event becoming the first Indian to win an individual gold medal at the Olympic Games.
